Weekly ramblings
In no particular order, it seems to have been a week of ups and downs..Hysterical to watch the great and good panicking because a true old time socialist in a scruffy shirt may become the next leader of the Labor party. No matter how much they throw at him the public refuse to take away support and indeed it is obvious that the more the ruling elite panic the more we "plebs" like it. Rock on Mr Corbyn..
Emigration is still raising its head as a specter and bad omen for the future stability of Europe. We cannot go on absorbing the worlds refugees without massive implications to welfare, health and other support structures.. The EU as with all forums these days is proving just a talking shop with little power to act and when it does its overtaken by events. No one listens to the UN anymore and the media, who drive most things, these days managed to have a field day this week and changed the parlance from migrant to refugee, which was nice. No doubt we shall all go down the tube as the lawyers wring their hands and mumble about human rights, but wouldnt like one living with them. Time to act is now unfortunately and it is a simple enough thing to solve. Secure the borders and sort the problem at source.. We caused most of it by invading Iraq and doing nothing in Libya. Then to just make the day complete our stance on Syria was at best headless chicken and that lead to the tribes rising, as Gadaffi warned it would before he died! But with what do we address... We have no conventional forces capable of doing the job and the rest of Nato is either backing Turkey in its stance against the Kurds, who are the only effective force fighting ISIS, or trying to put a bargain basement force together to bolster the east of Europe against Russia trying to re-start the cold war.. Sorry, not trying, they have! Interesting times.. As I have said before..We are a tribal based society and history proves and will continue to do so that nothing good comes of mass movement of refugees. We would do well to study how it was done after the second world war when most of the world was on the move. The Red Cross and The Allied Powers did a magnificent job then.. Why cant we do the same now? Cost I expect. I am no bigot or racist, by the way, I am a realist and think that most things can be solved if there is a will and a plan..
I saw with total disgust yesterday that over 90 a month are dying who have been re-assessed by the Department of Work and Pensions and been found capable of work. What that means is 90 people a week are dropping dead who were once being paid disability welfare and have recently been told they are not sick enough by a private company paid for results.. And nobody cares! What is the matter with this country.. 90 people a week dying because some arsehole has put them back to work when they are incapable through ill health.. What?
I met a chap yesterday who had been written off with very good cause, lost his licence and was extremely disabled who had been told he could do some work and had lost his benefit payments. He had no idea how to get from a to b or what he was going to do, or what he could do?
Ian Duncan Smith the author of Welfare reform in this country is a most onerous and despicable man. He lives rent free with his posh wife in a huge house and is just another of those tory gravy train MPs currently on a power trip. No doubt when he is past it he will toddle off to the Lords as did another 45 hangers on yesterday. We now have over 800 Lords all doing bugger all and too many bums for the seats in the Lords. Its disgraceful to think that only China has a second house bigger than UK. Un-elected and unwanted burden on the tax payer... Vet the Lords Mr Duncan Smith and see how many of those you can chuck out to get a job. Fat chance!
Social Media. Well what of it... I for one wouldnt mind a hole lot less of it, as a lot of it is very much less than social.
I watched in horror a short film on Youtube this week were a bunch of feral high school girls in America beat the living crap out of each other, while the boys all stood around in a circle with camera phones at the ready. This made me go on a short hunt and I found dozens of fights in schools recorded for your viewing pleasure.. One particularly savage and very one sided encounter ended up with the serious head injury to one poor unfortunate male who had tried to protect his girl friend.. As he lay there in serious need of medical attention the device needed to summon aid was being used to film his probable demise. The crowd by the way thought it all very good fun and were laughing hysterically. This was in a modern city and in broad daylight. What have we become.. It is beyond sick..To think one could be in total deadly peril requiring aid and your fellow man just views you as ideal entertainment to be filmed, the film circulated world wide and laughed at. I know this has met its ultimate sick expression with the filming by the culprit of the shooting of a news team in the US, but he was a very disturbed individual and goodness knows there are enough head cases in the world committing murder and filming it.. But what makes this all the worse was it was filmed by normal (apparently) kids who seem to have had a morality by-pass. Where are we going?

We have lost our way... Moral Compass.
What a week. Wherever I look the world seems to have lost its moral compass. Look at this picture.. Its the latest feminist rant. Stare Rape. Apparently if a male (presumably) looks at a lady in any direction but into her eyes he is committing stare rape. God help us. What ever happened to sex appeal and attraction.? Stare rape! No wonder 35 per cent of kids are reporting problems with their sexuality and dont know which way to go and now which way to look!!!. Girls, do not wear sexy outfits you could be arrested for aiding and abetting stare rape!
Once upon a time what you looked like and how your dressed really helped the human race to keep going I believe it was called sexual attraction.. As for stare rape, I must confess to being a serial offender and have committed the offence many times.. And as a secret post industrial dinosaur and practicing un reconstructed male I probably may well do so again. Mind you the way medicine is going now meeting and being attracted to someone you like, making love in the old fashioned way and having a kid will be as old hat as wind up gramophones. Stop staring and move on, nothing to see here young man! Shame, I enjoyed window shopping.
I cannot understand why the west can go to war over none existent (oil) weapons of mass destruction and totally ignore a lunatic bunch of murdering scum like ISIS. This week the B....ds killed a very old man who refused to tell them where thousand year old antiquities had been stored specifically to stop them destroying them. . This frail gentleman refused and the swine tortured and killed him for no good reason other than their bent belief that some statues offended their view of their prophet. They then crucified the gentleman and cut off his head. Words fail me at this point. All I can say is it puts the members of ISIS beyond redemption and beneath contempt. Surely we must confront them and destroy them.
To make this worse the only real soldiers fighting ISIS are the PKK an YPG of Kurdistan.. If it wasnt for the Kurds basically the whole region would be ISIS controlled. The Turks have said they would be taking on ISIS this week. To date they have hit the Kurds 50 plus times and ISIS once. I do not understand the Turks. Make peace with the Kurds and take on ISIS.
And it is now surely time that the west got involved.
My favorite story this week is the farce into which the leadership of Labour is descending. Of course its the usual fog and mirrors. By creating this farce the hair gel and suite mob currently running scared of Corbyn can say that the leadership election process was or is tainted and needs to be abandoned or if it goes on and Corbyn wins they can say it was a biased or damaged election. Either way the Blairites will try to maintain control of the levers of power. Those of you out there who care for a truly democratically elected government by the people and for the people better hope Corbyn wins.. Or the rampant austerity will continue and do not be surprised if you do not recognise this country in 20 years. I just hope the young continue to be inspired by Corbyn and get some momentum into getting this country away from austerity and back to looking after its poor, disposed, hungry and homeless. We really must start to look after each other soon and rampant capitalism will never do that.
Now, something that really gets me ranting is the way the Jewish community have cashed in on the holocaust.
Its true 6 million Jews died tragically, as its true 26 million Russians died tragically or 1 in 3 Poles. But my goodness me isnt it time the Jews stopped cashing in on it. The latest cracker is PTSD suffered by the grand children of camp survivors. How about that. Mount Sinai Hospital in the US has decided that Grand kids of Holocaust victims can be traumatised by the stories of their parents, who were not even their, about their parents who where...erm. there? .. Wow now that is a stretch of imagination and surly just another manifestation of the holocaust industry. I suppose it was inevitable because that way you can keep the supply of claimants going.
Its not a well known fact that for 70 years the German and Swiss Government have being paying out astronomical sums to all and sundry with the most tenuous link to the Holocaust and 5 will get you 10 that the shyster lawyers who make a very nice living off this kind of thing will be cuing up to represent all those grand children who now are having sleepless nights over things they never saw or experienced and have been traumatised second or third hand. Please someone tell me how a generation two times removed can be traumatised by things they never saw and had to be told about by the children of those that were actually there? Dose this mean I can claim for my fathers trauma, suffered quietly and with dignity for 60 years and due in some part to his being involved in the liberation of Belsen. Or, I know my Grandfathers shell shock from World War One? Soon you may be able to claim for watching Schindlers List! Please world grow a pair!
One wonders what is the point of marriage when 37 yes 37 million married people sign up on a website in order to have an extra marital affair.. It begs the question: Why do they get married in the first plac? Never mind contemplation on how much treachery and betrayal it takes to commit adultery on line in such a fasion. It is beyond belief. Awful to think ones partner could be tapping away on the computer sorting out his/her extra marital sex life.. Yuck!
I cannot understand why anyone would take the oath of marriage so lightly. To blow lots of money on a ceremony that essentially means nothing is one thing, but to promise to love honor and obey until you fancy a bit of something else is the lowest of the low.. Does integrity, taking of an oath and often before God swearing to keep that oath mean nothing anymore. If it is so then why bother swearing a jury in, why take the office of Judge or Constable..Why bother with oaths or declarations of any kind. They are all bullshit. Why not admit that things are so bad now that folk just do whatever they like.
Marriage has now become nothing but a sham, people do it as long as it suits them. Damn the children and never mind the broken hearts cast along the way.. Now it seems that if you dont like the sex your getting at home you can just log on and find some other slag to go and fumble with in a sordid hotel room. Shame means nothing anymore. Imagine finding the partner you loved more than anything in the world that you were prepared to live with for better for worse in sickness and in health then had signed up to a website in order to get "just the right" partner to commit their adulterous diversion with. Well, on behalf of all the loyal wives and husbands out there who meant their vows and who would never have strayed from their oath i would just like to take this opportunity to say "you total shit" and I hope someone betrays you sometime to those of you who would do such a thing.

Wet weather ramblings
I have a book to complete. It is the book of my family from around 1900 up to? I do not know where to end it, by that I mean what year. It follows the lives of a poor family in the midlands of Britain and the heart ache, love, funny times and tragedies through two world wars and the hard peace in between. My problem is my own life and its part in this book. My life...........well...........a lot of it you could not write....no one would believe it. I often have to pinch myself to make sure I didnt dream it. Plus, and more to the point, I do not really want to go through a lot of it again. It was painful enough the first time.
So, where to finish this saga? It is so much easier to write about others than oneself and I do find it difficult.
In other news: I see Jeremy Corbyn is really putting the Blairites in the Labour movement into an extraordinary degrees of panic. The great and good of the party are literally crapping themselves in case a real socialist should become leader.. I love seeing all the hair gel and degree in modern politics, never had a job in their grotty little politically correct lives scared shit less in case they get kicked off the gravy train. Oh please let him win. The common poor bloody disposed working on the margins and living in some modern sink estate ghetto so need a hero. Ohh for a chance to take from the rich and give some to the poor..and kick over the money lenders tables. Rock on Mr Corbyn.
It seems Thailand may have had its 9/11. Terrorist atrocities now know no borders and tourists are sadly always rich pickings for them.. I have never understood how a human being with any kind of veneer of humanity can do such a thing as to wish to harm, cripple and kill totally innocent human beings who are totally unaware and going about their lawful daily affairs. It is beyond cowardice. How does it help their cause in any other way than to mark them as murderous gutless scum. I never understood it in Ireland when I served there. We forget that some of those now in charge in Ireland condoned and perpetrated some terrible outrages. I well remember the aftermath of a bus shelter in Belfast and what high explosives can do to a group of normal people just waiting for a bus. When will it stop. Killing and crippling innocent civilians is no way to achieve anything and the people who do such things are beyond the pale and should be treated as such.

Thought for today
Yet again I was listening to radio four today and the question again was should they drop thought for the day.. The usual Liberal political correct gang were cuing up to say Britain should be none-well-anything really. Just neutral and no one should offend those whose life it is to be offended and no one should have an opinion or dread of dread a faith that believes in any higher being. Luckily the religious head of Radio Four trumped that by saying the BBC has no reason to change things. And that was the end - thankfully - of that. Well done BBC.
Talking of Trumps... the Presidential election has at last brought to our attention a more than interesting character in Mr Trump, a very welcome change to the usual boring PR savvy herd and totally more preferable to another Clinton or Bush. Trump has the common touch and it was very rewarding to hear his outrageous views on last night GOP debate. Even though it was on Fox, with its slightly right of Adolf Hitler stance, it was a delight to hear Mr Trump slaughter the presenter with his views on Political Correctness. Watch it on YouTube if you can.
I think you may disagree with a lot he says, but at least you know what he thinks and my goodness thats refreshing in this age of bland politicians scared of their own shadow, the media and giving an opinion that could hang them. Trump gives it as he sees it and that, as with other conviction politicians makes for a far more interesting time. My particular favorite was when asked about the current US deficit he replied "Got to get it down... Its going to hit 21 trillion soon and if it does the US will be like Greece on Steroids".
Yep, the US could do worse than elect him. Can you imagine him and Putin in the same room... WOW!
Maybe thats what we need.. Lets face it the world was a quieter place when we thought it could be incinerated in four minutes.. Deterrence works... You want proof. OK. since 1948 Pakistan and India have had four wars. None since they both got nuclear weapons. More on that another day.. Have a peaceful weekend.

Charity begins at Home!
Once upon a time we livid in a country where charity was deemed something one did as a good citizen and as such was thought to b reward in itself. Further, charity was practiced by whatever faith one happened to be in and across social and ethnic divide. We were all taught that charity begins at home and to give was reward in itself.
Noblest Oblige was also very significant once upon a time and the landed gentry were at the forefront and gave and led by example. Same with industrialists and those who had earned a bob or two. Lord Nuffeild for example was a very wealthy man in that he ran Morris Motor Car Company. But he gave most of his money away to charity or for the building of hospitals and schools. As many others did. Half the trust organisations we know today came about over a hundred years ago. So, we have a good foundation of charitable works and organisations in this country to be proud of.. However, of recent date and probably starting some 30 years ago the charity and the industry of which it is a part has attracted people and groups very much at odds with the basic principles of the charity and is frequently used as a front for something else, be it self interest or worse.
From the Trustee who likes a charity on his/her CV to the further his/her contacts or simply to look good, to the Government intent on shifting responsibility for this or that thorny issue to any NGO/Charity they can then dump the blame on. History is littered with financial, hard ware and operational waste endemic with charities who have been given too much too soon with no accounting as to the organisations ability to provide the service they have been set up to deliver as an expediency for government, corporation or individual.
Further, many organisations have suffered from being a conveyance to bigger organisations corporate PR image and worse for Governments use to act as a cover for its state covert services. The UN being a particular good case in point. One could recruit a complete special forces company from so called retired former special forces personnel working for NGOs. Which is probably why most countries state departments and foreign ministries look after deployment of donated staff to NGO's and the UN.
On a smaller level abuse of charities particularly in this country are in many ways crippling the industry, although to call it an industry (as that is what it is) sticks in the throat. From the former retired army Colonel who joins a London based charity for retired soldier (a true case) simply to be allowed a parking space near Hyde Park. Tp the Inns of court and Law practices who use charities to generate claim cases and the Corporate giants who wish to higher their green credentials, charities really can be cash cows.
Naturally, what makes it all the more galling is the small charity that started with normal people trying to fill a gap or help a group of disadvantaged people that through its popular appeal grew and was then taken over by charity "professionals" and the people they once helped feel the loss and the loss is also the leaving of the staff who began the endeavor. This is common, tragic and slimy.
My personal (I have some experience here) pet hate are the totally useless idiots who gravitate to positions of some power within big NGOs and Charities. As a case in point:
I once worked for a engineering and electronics company working in developing countries. This brought us to the attention of a major UK Charity.. I had recently returned from working with UNHCR as network manager for their communications network and so was well versed in current comms technology. I received a call from the communications manager of this major charity asking for some advice and I wondered over to Oxford to have a chat. When I got there I was amazed at the size and content of the car park. Rolls, Bentley, Jags and Mercs in abundance. I met the chap concerned and immediately realised he had not the first clue as to his job, its requirements and how to deliver it.
I was to find this problem again and again as I gravitated towards more working with NGOs through the Foreign Office - for whom I worked as a contract staff member. With the UN and then the OSCE I came across international staff who were either spies or simply useless at their job. Indeed, it was a delight when as as Senior Personnel Officer in Belgrade I was allowed - thanks to the mission being in the hands of a truly professional serving General of the Army of Finland to recruit and post properly qualified personnel to key jobs. Naturally, the effectiveness of the mission increased significantly, but the chagrin of those who fell by the wayside due to being found wanting in the simple ability to do the job was a struggle Ill not forget in a hurry. Amazingly I found it easier to fire a observer from Norway for being hopeless easier than one from UK for being drunk and incapable half the time..The old boys network really does exist.
So, from top to bottom and never mind the size it appears that many charities are not fit for purpose and used as vehicles for other than their designed purpose by a collection of individuals who are not even remotely qualified to do the job they are paid to do.. or, indeed volunteer to do (usually this group through no fault of their own) at considerable cost to those they are supposed to serve and to the public who give up the money to run and pay them. Notwithstanding the ambulance chasers who get their money from charities in referrals.
Sad, but do we not get the charities we deserve? for is it not a case that charities are made up of members of that same public it is supposed to serves.. erm! Maybe therefore the degeneration of the charity as an institution is simply a reflection of a general decline in what charity once stood for and our own standards..
A case in point. I have a friend with M.S. she is a retired midwife of over a thousand deliveries and a good egg. We have a basket list and she has ticked off a few of the things she needs to do now and while she still can. Yesterday she went gliding and was lifted out of the cockpit by a strapping KLM Captain as she was unable to get out.. She reports that it was a very nice day.. It took one phone call to arrange that.. Do I make my point? I hope so, because one, i think, should give a little charity as often as one could. Quietly, for it is for you to know what you did.. Its a good feeling.
This week with Kids Company hitting the headlines all I can say is it will not be the first classic charity cock up and until someone decides its time to get Charities regulated properly it will not be the last. I wish it were not so for the sake of many who sadly are dependent upon the goodwill of others.

Can you believe it.
I keep going on about tribalism and how it totally it flies in the face of integration.. Well here are two illustrations..
One.. There has been lots of trouble in German refugee camps between opposing religious and ethnic groups from Syria who have only just arrived in the country. In Bavaria the religious leader in a camp has asked the girls of a local school to dress more conservatively in order to not inflame the youth. They have only been there a month! And open war (see pic) in one town due to refusal by the German authorities to allow for the building of a new megga mosque!
Secondly in Calais opposing sides in the Syrian conflict have declared a truce. And if you think im making this up the BBC news last night is the source.. They said that opposing ethnic groups in Calais had reached a truce in order to assist each other in breaking into the channel tunnel. No doubt they will go back to business as usual once they have broken in and settled in UK.
Unbelievable, we need our heads testing to even think of taking anymore of these people. Its bad enough to be told,as I was in Oxford once, that all Asian families should have a white servant.. That was when collecting a donation for a national charity kindly collected by a very nice gentleman who had been subjected to a racial attack..But to have my country torn apart by people who were not born here, owe no allegiance to the state, will not obey its laws and ridicule its tradition and customs is too much.
Difficult times if we do not apply the law equally and much grief and strife I predict if we do not grasp some heavy nettles soon. We must confront some serious problems. Problems which if grasped many years ago would have left a happier Britain now.
I was speaking to a Albanian refugee from Kosovo the other day. He came over here during the war in Kosovo and never went back. He is an illegal and works on a farm near here. Nice chap, but as he said the problems of custom and belief do not end once one leaves a conflict zone. In (and note his words) his community a eye for an eye and family are all. He said that blood feuds between families can only be answered by revenge and no matter where or when they will be repaid.
I rest my case. Tribal, religious, ethnic tensions and differences are what makes for constant strife and dispute. They do not stop no matter what the topography or location they are moved to. You have been warned and ignore it at your peril.
Time the UN did what it was supposed to do.. End war and bring peace where people can prosper no matter where they are from. Some hope I know! But pray for it... the way things are going we are in for a nightmare.
